Northwood Assembly Begins Construction on New Campus at Carnes Crossroads

Northwood Assembly began construction on its new campus within the developing Carnes Crossroads community this month with a ground breaking ceremony for the first phase of construction. The Carnes Crossroads campus will be developed in several phases on 60 acres of land donated by the Daniel Island Company. The first phase will include the construction of a main auditorium, childcare center, Kid’s Town chapel, youth ministry environments and administrative offices. Completion of Phase One is tentatively scheduled for late 2011. (more…)

Plans Announced for “The Market at Carnes Crossroads,” Anchored by Harris Teeter

Charlotte-based developer Lincoln Harris has acquired commercial property within Carnes Crossroads and plans to develop a shopping center anchored by a 48,756 square foot Harris Teeter grocery store (the first for this area of Charleston). The Market at Carnes Crossroads will feature 60,000 square feet of specialty shops and restaurants, 25,000 square feet of office space and multiple outparcel operators. Lincoln Harris is the owner and developer of The Market at Carnes Crossroads and will be handling the leasing. (more…)

Plans for a Mixed-Use Community Present a ‘Smart Growth’ Opportunity for Berkeley County

The Daniel Island Company has acquired a 2,300-acre tract of land in Goose Creek that includes the Carnes Crossroads intersection and is developing a master plan for a mixed-use community for this growing area of Berkeley County. A former timber tract, the property is located at the intersection of highways 17A and 176 – an important center for growth in Berkeley County – and includes four miles of prime commercial frontage. It has the potential to develop into a significant commercial and residential center for the city. (more…)
